Saturday Expectations!!

On every Saturday there is an expectation that begins to rise up in our hearts about the things that God is going to do @ The Point on Sunday. When the people of God begin to go through their weekend anticipating what God is going to do when we come together, there is no telling what can happen.

If you have never been to The Point in Escondido, you owe it to yourself to join us this weekend. Our services are held @ 9 AM and 11 AM each Sunday. We also have Midweek @ The Point every Wednesday evening at 7:30 PM. God is doing some great things here in Escondido. Just a thought

I wrote this the other day and put it up on my blog at darinsargent.com. I thought that it would be fitting to place on our church blog. Give us some feedback on what you think.

I am sitting in one of my favorite places outside of being home with my family - Starbucks! I know, I know, overpriced coffee and all that but I love the vibe of these places. I primarily go to Starbucks to get myself thinking outside the box of the four walls of my office. Each time I spend time in a coffee shop like this, I walk away with a new understanding of people. People are my business so I want to know all that I can about them.

This morning as I sit here, I realized all over again how much people crave community. Every table except the one I am at and maybe one other has 2 or more people sitting at it. It comes back to the very beginning statement that God made concerning man - It is not good that man be alone. We need each other.

This leads me to the belief that this is the church’s greatest hour. If we truly are the church that we are called to be our places of worship should reflect that atmosphere of community. There is something about being connected to others, it makes the journey of life a lot more enjoyable.

Sharing stories, encouraging one another, helping when there is a need - these are all a part of what community is all about. I am not interesting in living a life that is invisible! I want to reach out and connect with others, make a difference in their lives.

Take today and recognize that there are people around you! You are not the only one living on this planet. I know for some that is going to be hard to fathom but it is true. Help someone today - invest something in someone else’s life. You would be surprised what a difference you can make.

Gotta roll - someone is asking for the empty chair at my table.

Sunday Morning @ The Point

It is the last Sunday of 2008. It is amazing how fast this year has gone by. It has been a whirlwind but it has been an incredible year for The Point.

On the last Sunday of this month - what are you expecting God to do in your life? What dreams and visions have been given to you by God for the New Year? Today in the House of God it could be a day unlike any you have had before.

Let’s come expecting God to cap off the year 2008 with some incredible blessings.

It has been awhile

I noticed that it has been awhile since we have posted any type of blog on what is going on @ The Point. I guess things have just been moving to fast to stop long enough and write some things down.

God has been good to The Point! Great things are happening and we are excited about the future of what He is doing. Let’s come together this weekend with expectancy and see what will happen when we all worship with faith and unity.

It promises to be a great day in the House of the Lord.

Another Sunday

It is here again, another Sunday that seems to come every week!! I am excited about what God is going to do @ The Point today. We are in for something awesome because we serve an awesome God. He is able to do things that are seemingly impossible.

I encourage each of you to come with Faith, Expectancy and Passion! Let’s believe that God is going to work in some ones life today. Bring someone with you, encourage some one that is struggling in their journey today. Let’s be “others minded” today and see what God will do through us.

Starbucks Spirituality

Thanks to all that have spent time in prayer for the Jones family with the passing of their son, Justin. Solid Youth organized a prayer chain and young people around the clock were praying for strength and peace for the family.

It would be a good idea to post any sympathies you may have here on the comment area of this post and we will present them to the Jones family from the church. So if you would like to post any comments, memories, or sympathies feel free to use this site for that. I know it will be appreciated.

To all the members and friends of NPWC we ask you to be in prayer for the Jones family. As many of you know, Justin Jones suffered brain anuerysms yesterday and was placed on life support. I have been in touch with the family throughout the ordeal and they need our prayers greatly.

Thanks for your concerns and prayers during this difficult time. I will be updating the blog as I receive more news.

Stepping Into the Unknown

Tonight we begin a brand new series entitled - “STEPPING INTO THE UNKNOWN.” We will be looking at an unfamiliar character within the Word of God that defied the odds that were against him.

You will be challenged as we dig a little deeper into all that God has for us in his Word. Come expecting something to happen as we STEP INTO THE UNKNOWN!!
